A California road worker was recently killed when, while on the job, he was struck from behind by a teenager driving a car. The deceased was operating a grinder in a construction zone when the driver swerved over traffic cones and entered into the construction area.

Such serious car accidents frequently come about because motorists do not proceed with caution through areas where they know that workers will be present. Though the driver stated he was unable to see the construction area because of the fogging up of his windshield, poor visibility should alert the driver to be more cautious under such circumstances and even suggests pulling over to the side of the road until the windshield has cleared.

Every motor vehicle accident is singular and has its own independent cause that will need to be investigated to determine what occurred. Negligence must still be proven before compensation should be granted to victims injured in this type of motor vehicle accident. Attorneys experienced in litigating such civil lawsuits generally have the sufficient resources to determine whether such negligence was present.

Having said this, accidents in construction zones are preventable and every driver should be put on the alert to be more careful whenever workers are present. The teenage driver struck at least two separate cones before eventually striking the victim of this accident. It's possible that the teenager may face criminal charges due to this accident, but criminal charges will do nothing to help out family members and friends of the worker killed in this incident.
